Program Description:
Given the ever-increasing pace of scientific progress and the explosion of information worldwide and in Iran, and nearly 35 years after the establishment of dental specialty programs in Iran, revising the curricula of these programs appears essential.
In this context, and in accordance with the guidelines of the Council for General and Specialty Dental Education, special committees responsible for planning dental education were tasked with revising the curricula of specialty programs. The committees comprised members of the examining boards, evaluation groups, executive managers, specialty associations, and several young experts. Each committee solicited the views of expert graduates and current postgraduate students and reviewed the content of educational programs in various countries to develop a new curriculum for its specialty program and submit it to the Higher Commission for Dental Education Planning. With the help of God Almighty, the committee responsible for revising the curriculum of the Restorative Dentistry specialty program has prepared a new curriculum, which will be implemented following approval by the Council for General and Specialty Dental Education.
